"Monsterboards" Short Film

I wanted to make a film for the New York Surf Film Festival so I decided to make a short documentary about Dutch surfer/artist Eef. I couldn't fly to Holland so I emailed Eef a shot list and sent him a GoPro HD camera. Eef happily shot everything I needed and FTP'd the footage up to my server where my editor in NY could could grab it down and log and cut it. I also found a great young animator, Garrett Koeppicus, to animate Eef's drawings. The film made it into the festival and Eef flew out from Holland with his wife Belinda for the sold-out screening. After the screening we were both interviewed by the festival founder and took questions from the audience. The film was also added to the Surfer's Journal online film section. The film has since played in festivals around the world, won an award from Patagonia, and is playing in constant rotation at an aquarium in California.
